Welcome to the Maple class page

Welcome back! We hope you had an egg-cellent Easter break!

Our new topic is “How did life change during the Victorian era?”

We are excited to be stepping back in time to discover more about this fascinating period of British history, starting off with our Victorian school trip to Beaumanor Hall on Wednesday 10th April. Our novel study this half term is Street Child by Berlie Doherty, the unforgettable tale of Jim Jarvis, an orphan in Victorian London, based on the boy whose plight inspired Dr Barnardo to found his famous children’s homes.

PE will be on Mondays and Wednesdays this half term, so please ensure children have their kit in school.

We love reading at Robert Bakewell, so please try to read as much as possible with your child at home, we cannot wait to hear all about their exciting reads!

Don’t forget to keep an eye on our webpage as we will upload photographs regularly to showcase the fabulous learning happening in class and our Stars of the Week.

We are looking forward to another fun-filled term, if you have any queries please email maple@robertbakewellprimary.com
