Beaumanor Trip

Last week, we launched our new topic “How did life in Britain change during the Victorian era?” with a fascinating trip to Beaumanor Hall. The children toured the grand Victorian hall, its cellar and expansive gardens, which were built between 1842-1854, before undertaking the role of servants and doing ironing and washing - the Victorian way! In the afternoon, the children experienced a Victorian school - and were all shocked by how strict the schooling system was on children, who were meant to be ‘seen and not heard’. We were so proud of all the children who represented Robert Bakewell with superb behaviour and curiosity. Well done, Lime class!
