Attendance

Attendance is very important to us as children who attend regularly do so much better than those who don't.

The school’s minimum attendance target is 96% and we would appreciate your support in ensuring that their attendance improves to at least our minimum school target.

There is a duty on parents to ensure that their children attend school regularly and on time each day. If we note a fall in your child’s attendance we will contact you to offering appropriate advice and support in addressing any issues that are affecting attendance. If a situation cannot be resolved in this way it may become necessary to refer the matter to our Education Welfare Officer for further intervention. In some cases, as a last resort parents can be issued with a penalty notice or prosecuted by the local authority for failing to ensure their child’s regular attendance at school.
