Donna Sherratt - Chair of governors

My name is Donna Sherratt and I am the Chair of Governors. I have 2 children in the school and joined the Governing body in May 2015 and became a Chair in September 2016. Professionally, I have an Early Year Degree and Leadership qualifications, I have worked in Children’s Early Intervention services for 16 years. I am ambitious for the children at Robert Bakewell School and work alongside the Headteacher and staff team to achieve the best learning environment.

Should you need to contact me, my details can be obtained from the school office.

Andy Pask - Vice Chair

My name is Andy Pask, I am a parent governor and joined in September 2019. I have three children at Robert Bakewell. Professionally I lead an international charity that works in Africa and South-East Asia to help communities access their rights to education, healthcare, justice and land. I am passionate about seeing young people thrive at Robert Bakewell and am committed to supporting the Headteacher and the staff to create an environment where everyone can fulfil their potential.

Jo Barber - Training and development staff governor

Robert Bakewell is an incredibly special community of children, parents, staff and Governors, and I have been lucky enough to be a teacher at the school in a variety of roles for almost 10 years. 6 years ago I became a Staff Governor and enjoy being part of our active and dedicated Governing body and having opportunity to represent the voice of our dedicated and hard working staff in meetings and decision making.

Victoria Freer - Staff governor
I started my teaching career at Robert Bakewell in September 2014 and joined the governing body in 2015.  I join Mrs Barber in representing the voice of our wide range of wonderful staff as a staff governor. I have been teaching throughout Key Stage 2 since I started here and I joined the middle leadership team as Maths co-ordinator in 2018. I additionally worked temporarily on the senior leadership team in a cover-role throughout 2 terms in 2019. I also endeavour to take care of staff morale as the team at Robert Bakewell are truly exceptional in the way that they work together with the best interests of each and every pupil at the heart of their roles. These new roles and experiences have heightened my already strong dedication to the life of our school and the progress that we continue to make as a community of pupils, parents, staff and governors.
Andrew Reed - Outcomes governor
My name is Andrew Reed and I became a Governor in June 2018. Professionally I have been in the brewing and pub retail business for 30 years. I started Charnwood Brewery (with my wife I might add!) in 2014 which focuses on supplying beer to local licenced premises. I am also a Non Exec Director of the Steamin’ Billy Pub Company which has 11 pubs throughout Leicestershire. I feel I can help the Headteacher provide the very best learning environment for the children at Robert Bakewell School. I look forward to the challenge.
Cath Watson - Clerk to the governors
Mary Bishop - Behaviour and welfare governor
Hello, my name is Mary Bishop and I’m a parent governor at Robert Bakewell primary school. I have 2 children who both currently attend the school. It was also my primary school many years ago and holds a special place in my heart. I qualified as a Nursery Nurse in 2002 and have had many years experience of working with children and alongside parents and carers. I became a parent governor in October 2018. I am very proud and passionate about Robert Bakewell and feel privileged to be a governor. I'm committed to working alongside the staff, leadership and governing body to help to achieve the best possible learning environment and outcomes for our children. Please feel free to come and have a chat about anything school related that I maybe able to help you with. I’m almost always in the playground at the end of the school day (I'm the lady that whizzes around on a blue mobility scooter!)
Rev. Ellen Lockwood

Hello, my name is Rev. Ellen Lockwood and I’m a recently ordained minister on the leadership team at New Springs in Loughborough. I’ve a long history of working with children, young people and schools, in an out of the school environment and so I’m really excited to be on the Governor team at Robert Bakewell.

I am so pleased to be a part of this amazing school and am looking forward to seeing what I can bring to make the school experience even better.

Amita Mistry

I am an LSA who currently works in foundation. I joined Robert Bakewell in 2018 and joined the governing body in 2019. As this was the school I had attended when I was younger I hope to give back a little of what was instilled in me. I plan on representing the non teaching members of staff on the governing body. Since joining Robert Bakewell I have realised all the staff members have got the childrens best interests at heart and wish to support them in the best way possible. We have a really strong team to take on any challenge and I hope to be a part of this journey for years to come.
