Hornbeam Curriculum Showcase
Thank you to everybody who came to have a look at the wonderful work we have created this half term. I have taken some photos for anybody who didn't get the chance to pop in. I am very proud of how hard each and every child has worked this half term and of the amazing work they have created. You should be very proud too! Well done Hornbeam, keep it up!
Our Stonehenge Sunsets
We created some wonderful Stonehenge sunsets using watercolour paints and ripped paper. They turned out amazingly and we can't wait to bring them home!
Today in science, we went on a rock hunt around the school grounds. We had to hunt carefully to see if we could find lots of different types of rocks, then we created wanted posters to describe the properties of the rocks. We had lots of fun and used our imaginations to come up with crimes the rocks might have committed like tripping people up and squashing worms.
Our Ideas About God
Hornbeam created some wonderful illustrations about God and his/her creations in the playground today. We were all asked to draw something to represent our understanding of God and share our ideas with one another. We found out lots of interesting information about different religions from one another.
Today in Hornbeam we have been using playdough to make our spelling words.
Friday French Fun!
Last Friday we enjoyed practising our french greetings outside in the playground.
Super Chalk Spellings
This afternoon we practised our spellings outside using chalk, we even played some spelling games where we had to run into the middle of the circle and write each word. We had lots of fun!
Stone Age Houses
Today we were learning all about different Stone Age houses and we even got to create our own houses based on Skara Brae.
This afternoon we have been very busy creating some wonderful cave art in the playground. Make sure you have a look at our wonderful creations when you come to pick us up!
