Class News

In English, we have been learning about instructions. We had so much fun instructing Mrs Rutherford to make a jam sandwich and then we had a go at writing our own instructions too. :)

In R.E, we have been thinking about what God means to us. We spoke about our different Gods and different opinions. Here are some of our brilliant ideas.

Some examples of our natural cave paintings, which we did using resources collected from inside the school grounds.

Our Year 3 Curriculum display is looking fantastic!

Here's what we've learnt in French so far. Can you have a go at speaking French with someone in your family?

HOMEWORK- A stone age necklace. Amazing job Elijah, well done.

Working hard, creating our own cave paintings. Finished products to be revealed soon!

P4C Lesson

Today, we learnt about how the Lascaux caves in France were discovered and thought carefully about what we would have done if we were the young boys who made the discovery. Here are some of our interesting thoughts...

A fabulous start to our Stone Age topic...

We went to the forest school area where we made a very strange discovery, bones! Where could they have come from? Who might they have belonged to?

We also learnt how to make a fire (stone age style) and how to make some stone age tools. The children had a fabulous morning and worked together beautifully. As a result we saw some amazing pieces of writing too about our very different, but exciting morning!

Take one picture - our Kandinsky-inspired Art project.

This week we’ve looked at Kadinsky’s Art work.  The children showed great curiosity as we researched Kadinsky and found out some interesting facts about him.

Kadinsky thought about colours and the way the made us feel. As a class we thought carefully about what different colours made us think of. For example, the children thought that yellow is a happy colour and red is the colour of anger.

We created our own work in the style of Kadinsky and also added our own self-portraits which we created using oil pastels.

A massive WELL DONE to Hawthorn class this week. Everyone has come back with huge smiles on their faces and with a fabulous attitude to their learning.
