We learn, we care, we achieve, together

Welcome to Robert Bakewell

Our school is a happy, thriving learning community, where diversity is celebrated and high aspirations are encouraged.  We believe in the importance of motivating and inspiring our children to enable them to be confident, curious and ambitious. Our aims and values are supported by 30 ‘character muscles’, grouped into the 5 ‘R’s of Robert Bakewell; Resilience, Respectful, Resourceful, Reflective, and Responsible, these equip pupils to become lifelong learners.

Pupils will be inspired by their learning at Robert Bakewell.  Teaching will engage and unlock all pupil’s potential.  The lessons will be taught from a broad and balanced curriculum tailored to the local, national and global context.  Lessons will utilise the school’s environment (indoor and outdoor), combined with learning further afield.  Pupils will be inspired to become lifelong learners and encouraged to develop their naturally inquisitive nature through an enquiry based approach.  Pupils will master the key skills set out in the National Curriculum but also develop the knowledge, understanding and skills to flourish once they leave primary school.  Teachers will always strive to engage everyone so that each child makes rapid progress with their learning.
