3D

National Children's Art Week

Today (13th June) we celebrated art week.  We spent the whole day creating masterpieces and used lots of different new techniques.  We also found out all about abstract artists like Piet Mondrian, Paul Klee and Wassily Kandinsky.  We had lots of fun and Mrs Duncan was very impressed with our beautiful art work! Well done 3D.

Have a look at our pictures to see how we got on.

Special Olympian Day

On Tuesday we were lucky enough to be visited by some Olympians.  We completed the very difficult circuit challenges they gave us but thoroughly enjoyed it.

As part of our 'Home Sweet Home' topic, today we have been drawing our new Bakewell chickens.  We had lots of fun and can't wait to name them next week.

3D have had a great start to the summer term! We have been busy researching Loughborough for our new topic 'Home Sweet Home' and finding out facts such as the population of Loughborough and how it has changed over time.

One of our favourite moments this week has been learning the days of the week in French, here is a link to our jazzy days of the week song so you can become experts at home.

Don't forget to scroll down to all of our other super links that help us to enjoy our learning.

Please see our Topic Map and Newsletter for this half term.

Welcome back 3D!

What a fantastic start to this half term we have had. We have been busy finding out all about how fossils are formed in science and in maths we have been rounding numbers to the nearest 10 and 100.

This half term we are going to be continuing with our Stone Age topic as we still have lots to explore. We also have lots of practise to do for our upcoming performance 'Poetry Soup' .  It is clear you have all been practising our class poem over the half term as you have been able to recite it without looking at the words. Keep up the good work 3D and we will put on a fabulous show. 😁

Happy Half Term frown

This half term your child will be bringing home our class poem ' The Dragon who ate our school'.

We will be doing an Easter performance towards the end of the Spring term and it would be fantastic if you could encourage your child to rehearse their lines and the chorus as much as possible over the next few weeks.

I hope you all have a wonderful half term full of fun and I look forward to welcoming you back soon!

Mrs Duncan.

We are such wonderful artists in year 3.  Look at our amazing WW1 landscape art works!

Here are a few useful websites to help you with your learning this year.

Have fun!

Here are some pictures from our Roman day.  We were visited by a real life Roman legionary. It was lots of fun and he even let us learn some famous formations.
Mrs Duncan thought it would be fun to give us a stone challenge.  She had collected big stones over the summer and split them into groups.  We had to work in groups to decide what we were going to make.  Here is one of the sculptures we made, the number ten. frown

Welcome to 3D class page! What a fantastic start we have had to the term, all of the children have got really stuck into their new topic the Romans.

I have also attached the curriculum map for you to have a look at what we will be learning this half term.

I will post pictures and useful links on this page throughout the year to help you with your learning and so you can show your adults what we have been busy doing in school.

I would also like to thank all of the parents who came along to our meet the teacher meeting this morning, if you have any further questions about your child's learning please do not hesitate to ask me at the end of the day.

Why not have a practise of our new Roman song this weekend?
