1J dressed up brilliantly today for Children in Need! We hope we have raised lots of money and we have had lots of fun!
This week has been Anti-bullying week. We have had lots of discussions about what bullying is and how we can help people being bullied. We all made some beautiful wands to make wrinkled hearts better.
We loved using the autumn objects we collected yesterday to create some beautiful painting and rubbing pictures!
This afternoon we went on an Autumn walk around the playground to collect some beautiful leaves and sticks for our art lesson tomorrow! Keep your eyes on our page to see our arty autumn creations!
In maths this week we have been measuring! We have loved using the cubes to measure objects around the room. Our challenge for today was to measure the length of our maths books. Some of us even used rulers and found out that our maths books are 29cm long! Well done 1J! :)
Today we had our first maths lesson looking at shapes! We used lots of different shapes, some of which we cut out ourselves, to create some beautiful pictures!
Miss Jessop would like to say a huge thank you to all of the children who have spent time creating some amazing home work pieces! We have made sure to celebrate the beautiful projects that have been brought in by sharing them in class and the teachers have most definitely enjoyed the delicious super hero cakes that were brought in. They were almost too good to eat! Keep up the super work after half term 1 J! :)
Today we had a lovely visit from two opticians! We learnt lots about how people use glasses to help them see better and we even got to try some on!
We were incredibly lucky yesterday to have met two real life super hero guide dogs! We learnt lots about how they help blind people and enjoyed lots of cuddles with them at the end! We wish they could have stayed with us for longer!
I was very happy to see all of my class being very creative today and building their own fire engines, after we met a real life fireman on Wednesday! Aren't they brilliant? Good work 1J :)
After a hard week of learning, we decided to make some superhero bracelets on a rainy Friday afternoon! Don't we look brilliant!
In maths today we were looking at ordinal numbers. We had great fun pretending to be in the dinner line and saying what position we were in. Then we did some independent work using cubes and whiteboards which was a great success as some children produced some brilliant work, as displayed below! Well done 1J :)
Today we had our first science lesson looking at materials! We had an excellent lesson where we discussed what a material is and explored lots of different examples. At the end of the lesson we had fun putting our learning to the test by sorting different object to their correct material labels. We are excited to learn more next week!
Welcome to our classroom! We are all so excited (Miss Jessop especially) to have some fun learning experiences and make some amazing memories over the next year! Please keep an eye on our class page to see what magical things we get up to!
